NCSA Mosaic Version Information
The following versions of NCSA
Mosaic are either released or under development:
- Old versions.
- If you are running an old version of Mosaic, you should upgrade.
- Version 1.0
- Baseline supported NCSA Mosaic release.
- Version 1.1
- Maintenance release.
- Version 1.2
- Now available; maintenance release.
- Version 2.0
- Under development; will be beta upon release.

Future Versions
The current development plan for NCSA Mosaic looks like this:
- Versions 1.0 up to but not including 2.0 will be full releases of
the baselevel NCSA Mosaic client, for which support is offered.
- Versions 2.0 and above will be new and improved versions of
1.x, with libwww2 support, HDF/netCDF browsing support,
better multimedia handling, and all kinds
of neat new things.
- Versions 3.0 and above will be reengineered releases, written in
C++.
This is not set in stone, so don't hold us to it.
