Normally there's a live filesystem in this directory that you can use to run in CD-dependent mode. I'd put it up for FTP, but the file permissions would be incorrect. Anyway, the zipslack.zip package has a filesystem in it that works for this, so if you're going to burn your own disc, unzip zipslack.zip in this directory. Then, cd into the linux/ directory, mv everything up one level, and rmdir the empty linux/ directory.
