CD-Rom Control 1.01

Files

The files you should now have are:

cdrom - cmdLine utility for mount/ejecting CD-Rom's.
cdrom-control - X-Windows utility for loading/mounting and umounting/ejecting CD-Roms.
eject-1.5.tar.gz - the control for ejecting CD-Rom's.
README - this file.

Requirements
Tcl/Tk 8.0 - available from http://www.scriptics.com
Eject 1.5 - supplied
Linux OS with X-Windows

Installation

cp cdrom /usr/bin
cp cdrom-control /usr/bin

In an xterm window type cdrom or cdrom-control

That's it !!

If you are unsure wether your version of Linux has the eject command then gunzip / tar xvf
the file eject-1.5.tar.gz and follow the installation instructions.

Other Info

The cd-rom's should mount into the default directory as determined in /etc/fstab.
It is assumed that your cd-rom drive is controlled from /dev/cdrom.
Check your /etc/fstab file if 'No such file or directory' errors show up.
The program also assusmes the wish command is in /usr/bin if not change that line as well.

The cdrom file has been included for people who can't quite give up the cmdLine completely.

This software is provided as is and has been designed for use on a Linux system.
If you are using it on a non-Linux system and you find/fix errors please let me know.
If you have problems you can contact me and I will try to answer your queries.
Once you have the software you may do with it what you will.
The only thing I ask is that if you make any changes, add new features, please let me know
and e-mail me a copy of it so I can include the new features into the next version.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE FILE BUG-FIXES FIRST IF YOU EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS

And finally if anyone can come up with a good name for it all apart from CD-Rom Control
please let me know.

Thanks,

Paul
